Plug your CHX OBD2 Bluetooth adapter into your car’s OBDII port and turn the ignition on. If your adapter has a power button, press it. Now, let’s connect it to your phone or tablet.
Pairing Your Device with the CHX OBD2 Adapter
First, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone or tablet. In your device’s settings, locate the Bluetooth section and turn it on. Scan for available devices. Your CHX adapter will likely appear as “OBDII,” “obd2,” “CHX,” or a similar name. It will not be named after your car brand.
Select the adapter to initiate pairing. You’ll be prompted for a PIN code. Common codes include “1234,” “0000,” “6789,” and “1111.” Consult your adapter’s documentation if you’re unsure.
Connecting in Car Diagnostic Apps
Open your car diagnostic app. Navigate to the settings menu, usually represented by a gear icon. Find the “Adapter” or “Connection” option and choose “Bluetooth” as the connection type.
Next, select “Select device.” A list of paired Bluetooth devices will appear. Choose your CHX OBD2 adapter from the list. You’ve successfully selected your adapter.
Now, return to the app’s main screen and tap the “Connect” button. In future uses, simply tapping “Connect” will establish the connection. Remember to turn on your adapter’s power button before connecting, if applicable.
If you encounter any issues, double-check the pairing and connection steps. Ensure your adapter is firmly plugged into the OBDII port and your vehicle’s ignition is on.
