Effective communication, shared understanding, and efficient processes are vital for positive patient outcomes. This research aimed to create a reliable tool to assess and ultimately improve team dynamics in primary care. The resulting survey offers a practical way to evaluate and enhance team performance, contributing significantly to health care team development.
Developing a Team Dynamics Survey for Primary Care
Researchers developed a comprehensive survey instrument grounded in an evidence-based conceptual model of team dynamics. This model posits that effective teamwork stems from enabling conditions, shared understanding, and supportive processes, leading to a cohesive team and perceived effectiveness. The model was tested and refined using structural equation modeling with responses from over 700 healthcare professionals.
